Maka Zedelashvili

Maka Zedelashvili is a Georgian multimedia artist based in Tbilisi, working across painting, installation, and digital media for over three decades. Her practice merges classical fine-art training with contemporary digital and immersive approaches.

Zedelashvili’s work explores memory, identity, and womanhood through the symbolism of Georgian ritual and religious tradition. Drawing on sources such as sacred trees, ancestral forests, and the inner lives of women, she revisits enduring themes through a contemporary lens. Her practice extends beyond painting to include sculpture, installation, mixed media, and elements of VR and AR, with each medium chosen to serve the concept rather than showcase technique.

Painting of a woman with long black hair, closed eyes, and a contemplative expression by a sunset sky with orange, pink, and purple clouds.
